JETHRO HOROWITZ

After coming back from the Philippines, I enjoyed Christmas/NYE with the family. I was lucky enough to see the birth of my Nephew, Oscar and now 3 months down the track I am in a state of complete limbo.

What a man does with his spare time is hard enough without his whole life being ‘spare time’. So, I have concluded that in order to get some sort of structure going, I need to get out of the house here in Sydney and go on a torturous journey of self-discovery. Some cultures send their children into the bush with nothing but a g-string to protect their balls from bears. They are told not to return for 3 months until they have become men.

My journey will be much the same. Except, rather than going to the bush, I will go to the Philippines for 6 months. I have set myself the task of writing a film during this time and it’ll be as gruelling as any culture’s test for man-hood. IF, like everyone thinks (myself included) this is not possible and it’s just a waste of time THEN I will return to Sydney and get a proper university degree OR a job. It will be the hardest thing I have ever done, but I have to do it for the sake of proving myself and everyone else wrong.

I am preparing to go for June or July depending if I decide to go to WSOP.
