WCOOP Misery

I am so depressed now. I was pretty sure I was going to win the WCOOP main event. My only problem was figuring out my ‘thank you speech’. I was probably going to thank my lucky grey stone and Lee Jones for not doom switching me when it mattered.

When the blinds were 600-1200 I had a 100k which was absolutely smashing it. A guy in the big blind had 40k and I made 3600 with JJ in early position. He flat called. With roughly 8k in the pot and the board of 794 rainbow, he checks and I bet 6k. He check raises me another 12k. I instant push for his remaining 20k to which he calls showing KK. I am knocked down to 60k

I manage to build my stack to 80k from there and then I get involved in the most depressing hand of my life. I am in the small blind which is 750 and it is folded around to me. I have JJ and I raise making 4.5k to play. Big blind who has been playing tight-aggressive and also has 80k instant calls me. Flop comes TT2 rainbow. I bet 8k into the 10k pot, he raises me another 10k, I figure he has a mid pair and I re-raise him adding 30k to the 18k he has already put in the pot. He thinks for ever and flat calls me. I have about 30k left, there is 100k pot and I push on the turn when a king hits. He calls me with TJ. I cried.

I think any good tournament player would admit that in both hands I need to lose a lot of money but I think I don’t need to go broke. Anyway, tournament month is over, I can get back to playing cash.

Please someone write that these hands are coolers and it wasn’t my fault that I got bust and had my dreams shattered.

When I’m unhappy I listen to French Beat Box Champion - Joseph.
